A small shop, run by hand
moonmoti is moon and moti — pearl. Two things we kept coming back to, so we named the shop after them.

How we choose
We buy in small quantities and wear everything ourselves before it goes up. A few weeks of ordinary use — commutes, kitchens, the odd forgotten shower — tells you more than any product description.
Most of what we try does not make it. Plating that dulls in a fortnight, clasps that catch on hair, enamel that chips. Those go back.
What is left is on this site. Around Pune, a lot of it arrives to you by hand.
What it is made of
Mostly 316L stainless steel finished in 18k gold plating. Steel is the reason these pieces hold their colour — brass, which most fashion jewellery uses, goes green.
Pearls are shell and mother-of-pearl rather than freshwater, which keeps them perfectly round and considerably cheaper. Stones are cubic zirconia. Enamel is filled by hand, so small variations between pairs are normal.
Everything is nickel-free.
Looking after it
- Last on, first off — put your jewellery on after perfume and lotion.
- Keep away from water, sweat and harsh cleaners.
- Wipe gently with a soft dry cloth after wearing.
- Store in the pouch it came in, away from direct sunlight.
